I cannot recall a time when I have not drawn or painted, and during my school years my enthusiasm and passion for art was the main driving force of my education.
I am predominantly a landscape and seascape artist and I would describe my painting style as 'more considered'. I am particularly moved to paint atmosphere and light in my compositions, and subject matter with intense brightness and deep shadows are my distinctive hallmarks.
Recognition of my work came in 1990 when my atmospheric shooting and gaming scenes were highly commended at The BASC Wildlife exhibition. The following year some of those paintings were published as limited edition prints by Sally Mitchell Fine Arts.
My work has been highly commended as well as achieving runner-up status in the waterscape section of The Society for all Artists (SAA) Artist of the Year.
In 2009 I was the winner of the SAA Professional Artist of the Year.
I paint predonimantly in oils, both 'plein air' and in my studio, and my recent work has been exhibited at 'The Royal Society of Marine Artists,' 'The Royal Institute of Oil Painters' and
the 'Royal Society of British Artists.'
Following the showcasing of my works at those exhibitions I have been short listed for commission work for The Sultanate of Oman.
I am represented by the Spencer Coleman galleries.
